On December 6, the Levittown Retired Teachers held their winter meeting at Domenico's Restaurant in Levittown.

At the meeting, the Division Avenue High School Chamber Singers, led by Alison Sellars, performed a spectacular array of holiday songs, a cappella.  The crowd was brought to their feet and joined in familiar songs.

LUT President, John Caulfield, and Levittown District Superintendent , Dr. Tonie McDonald, addressed the gathering.  Both Caulfield and McDonald thanked the retirees for their political action, and for their past service to the district and the children of Levittown.

On Friday, December 7, LRT Vice President, Tammy Green, and LRT Sunshine Committee Chair, Ronnie Avnet Stoll, attended an Ambassador Training workshop at the Suffolk Regional NYSUT Office.

Workshop presenters, Trudy Rudnick, Alexandra Castillo-Kesper, and Jeff Friedman, worked with 14 retired members to craft their stories about being an engaged union member and active participant in political action, and importance of this to their personal and professional well-being.

Next April, there will be a follow-up Member Organizing Institute training that will instruct and mobilize union members to share their union stories one-on-one with fellow union brothers and sisters.
