Levittown Retired Teachers Were a Huge Part of NYSUT's "Daytime Army."

Throughout this election cycle, members of the Levittown Retired Teachers (LRT) took part in several phone banking campaigns for NYSUT endorsed candidates.

At a recent LUT Executive Board meeting, LRT Vice President, Tammy Green, reported that the LRT received special recognition from NYUST leadership for all of their efforts "working the phones."

Members of Nassau NYSUT leadership have often referred to retirees as their "Daytime Army," making those important connections with voters who are at home during the day. Members of the LRT clearly understand and respect the sacrifices they had to make during their careers to earn the rights and benefits teachers have today and are willing to continue to work to protect those rights and benefits.

Well done, retirees! Your continued support and service to your union does not go unnoticed.

The next meeting for the Levittown Retired Teachers is their annual holiday luncheon for paid LRT members. This event will be held on Thursday, December 6 at 12pm at Domenico's Restaurant in Levittown. Attendees will be treated to a special holiday performance by the Division Avenue High School Chamber Singers, under the direction of Mrs. Alison Sellars.
