From March 25 to April 4, Long Island Teachers is sponsoring an island-wide opt-out campaign.  Using advertisements on social media, Pandora and local radio stations, the organization hopes to encourage as many parents as possible to exercise their right to opt their children out of the flawed state assessments.

On their website, LongIslandTeachers.org, Long Island Teachers will be launching a special landing page filled with helpful resources to educate parents on the reasons why they should opt their children out.

LUT is a proud, active member of Long Island Teachers and fully support this opt-out campaign.  Click here for a letter from LUT President John Caulfield regarding a parent's right to choose to opt-out their children from state tests.
