Make Your Voices Heard! Vote on November 3!

Politically, there is much going on, as always. The Obama administration is back pedaling on its recommendation on the use of high stakes testing, Governor Cuomo is questioning his last APPR mandate, and politicians everywhere are taking notice.

The actions taken by these politicians did not occur out of the goodness of their hearts. Their actions occurred due to the advocacy of union members and parents, the opt-out movement, and the fact that there is a major election just around the corner in 2016.

We MUST let our politicians know that we mean business by showing up at the polls on November 3. No, it isn't a big election year. But by coming out to the polls in large numbers this year, we can send a message that we are a force to be reckoned with for this year and for the years to come. Please encourage all LUT members to vote on November 3.

NYSUT does not endorse candidates in regional elections. However, our community college colleagues do endorse candidates because they negotiate and work directly with these local political leaders. The following candidates are endorsed by Nassau and Suffolk Community College Faculty Associations. Please consider these candidates when you vote.
