Last October, the LUT received a donation of 11,000 books as part of the New York State First Book grant program.  See details about the program and the LUT First Book Fair by clicking here.

Recently, the LUT teamed up with GC Tech's National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) to make use of any books not distributed during the First Book Fair.  The NTHS ran a book drive of their own and took the books from that drive and the remaining books from the First Book Fair and donated everything to Book Fairies, a charitable organization that distributes books all across the Metropolitan New York Area and Long Island.

All told, the NTHS donated over twenty-five boxes of books to the Book Fairies.  These books will be distributed across New York City and Long Island to help make sure every student has a book to read over the upcoming holiday vacation.

Special thanks to NTHS advisor, Cristy Lombarski, the students in the NTHS, and the LUT for giving back to those in need this holiday season.
