Our New Website

I hope everyone enjoyed a restful Thanksgiving with family and friends! I am excited to announce that our new website has launched at www.levittownteachers.com.  This highly anticipated endeavor is exciting on many levels.  When we partnered with UCOMM in July, our intentions were to help the LUT create a 'brand', but also, and most importantly, to be able to communicate with our members like we never have before.

Embracing this new technology has already made a difference.  This is the 5th edition of 'The Levittown Teacher' this year.  The e-newsletter is a great medium by which to inform you of important educational issues, benefit opportunities and upcoming events.  In addition, we have been able to utilize text and email blasts to get important election information to our members instantly.

We are expecting the new website to be a continuation of the same type of transparent, informative correspondence.  On the website you will find links to your supplemental benefits booklet and forms, union meeting minutes, helpful links to educational articles and blogs, contacts to building reps and officers, a calendar of upcoming union related events and more!

Please encourage your colleagues, if they haven't done so already, to update their contact information using the following link: www.levittownteachers.com/newsletter.  We are aiming for 100% participation from our membership, so spread the word!

I would also like to give a very special thank you to Joe Romano, LUT's Corresponding Secretary/Newsletter Editor and John Lipani, LUT's Vice President for Political Action. Without their hard work and attentiveness, this new undertaking would not have been possible.

Below are instructions on how to create the app-like shortcut on your smartphone. I encourage you all to do this. Our new website also has a photo and video gallery and news feeds from the AFT, NEA, NYSUT and from the AFL-CIO. There is a larger labor movement out there beyond our Local and its important that all members know that workers are fighting back all across this great country. So enjoy the new website, give it a look and encourage your fellow LUT members to take a look as well.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!
