Separation Incentive Announced

I hope you are all enjoying a well-deserved spring break.

It is my great pleasure to announce that at last Wednesday night's Board of Education Meeting, the Board voted unanimously to accept the LUT's proposed 'Separation Incentive.'

This incentive includes a payout for unused sick time upon separating from the Levittown School District as of June 30th, 2018. I want to stress that it includes, but is not limited to, separating from the district due to retirement. Both teachers and teaching assistants who meet the eligibility requirements will be entitled to the incentive.

A member wishing to take advantage of this exciting opportunity will need to express their intent to separate with the district on or before May 15th, 2018.
In order for this incentive to be activated, 25 teachers, excluding teaching assistants, need to express their intent to separate from the district.

This is an extraordinarily rare opportunity for our membership.  If you feel this incentive is worth considering, now would be the time to consult your financial advisor and/or retirement consultant.

Anyone interested in this opportunity should contact me directly for specific details.  I can be reached over the vacation via email at jcaulf@optonline.net or beginning Monday, April 9th at the union office:  516-796-5660.

Upon our return from vacation, Mrs. Rifkin and I will be scheduling a meeting to answer any additional questions you may have.

I would like to thank Mrs. Peggy Marenghi and the Board of Education and Dr. Tonie McDonald and her Central Office Staff for their support on this wonderful opportunity for our membership.

I look forward to hearing from you!  Enjoy the rest of your vacation!
