Time to Take Action

The ad below, written by LUT President, John Caulfield, will appear in an upcoming edition of the Levittown Tribune. The LUT believes very strongly that shielding public education from corporate interests is the responsibility of ALL members of our community, from teachers, to administration, to parents. The LUT is proud to lead the way in this effort.

We look forward to our national day of action this Thursday, January 19th, as a statement of widespread support for public education. We will continue to "Wear Red for Public Ed." on Thursdays as a sign of solidarity with those who join our fight to keep public education public and improve it going forward to so it equitably meets the needs of all deserving Americans.

This week, our fight is against the reckless decision by our President-Elect to nominate an individual for Secretary of Education with no experience or expertise in public education, and a record of siphoning money out of public schools to serve private industry, Mrs. Betsy DeVos. However, we are prepared to defend public education at every turn and at every corner of our country and encourage others to join us.

On Thursday, January 19th, please change your social media profile photo to our "Protect Public Education" shield as a sign of support.

We're all in this together.
