Wear Red for Ed March 12th

This week marks a full calendar year since we were all asked to shift to remote teaching due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

As a show of solidarity amongst all educators across Long Island, the Long Island President's Council has organized an island-wide Wear Red for Ed. day. The event will take place on Friday, March 12. Everyone is invited to wear red as a show of support for our profession, our colleagues, our unions and our schools.

The LUT is commemorating this day of unity by giving back. We are collecting donations for a very worthy organization that is doing great work in the Levittown community; the Levittown Angels. This important group has been active throughout the pandemic, supporting the most needy in our school district in a variety of ways. You can learn more about the Levittown Angels on their Facebook page.

Donations to the Levittown Angels during our Red for Ed. event can be made through the VENMO account for our LUT Treasurer, Nancy LiVolsi: @Nancy-LiVolsi.

Teachers across Long Island are Wearing Red for Ed on March 12th to show that while we may need to be apart they are united together. Click here to see some of the videos that teachers have recorded to encourage their co-workers to Wear Red.
