We Couldn't Have Done It Without You

There's no getting around it, LUT had a great night on Tuesday, May 17. Our union played a leading role in helping to get a school budget and capital improvement proposition passed, and our three endorsed candidates voted to the Board of Education, all by overwhelming numbers.

The LUT success on election night was the product of an extensive grass roots effort that began several months earlier.

Capably led by our inspirational Political Action Vice-President, John Lipani, LUT began our Phone Bank Brigade back in early April, helping our union to form a strategy for success. Soon after, our Executive Board conducted extensive interviews with each candidate to ensure that LUT would endorse three people who would advocate for the best interests of the children of Levittown.

From post cards, phone calls, lawn signs and door to door, face to face conversations, so many of our members played a role in making sure our budget passed, and our candidates won. Without question, the time and effort put in by LUT was a great example of the strength of what we can achieve when we work together.

In the very last days before the election, dedicated members of the LUT worked the phones. Congratulations to the following LUT members who were prize winners for making the most calls in our last round of phone banks. We really could not have done it without you. Thank you!
