Personal finance website, WalletHub, recently ranked all 50 states and Washington D.C. to see which states were the best for teachers.

WalletHub looked at 23 key indicators of "teacher-friendliness" including income growth potential, pupil-teacher ratio and general teacher safety. The results for New York? Well.... Not bad, actually.

New York State came in 10th place overall in the country. The 23 key indicators reviewed by WalletHub were divided into two major categories; Opportunity and Competition and Academic and Work Environment. While New York State ranked just 25th in the Opportunity and Competition metric, the state scored 5th in the nation for its Academic and Work Environment.
